Last chance for man caught with knife on Kettering estate

A criminal caught with a knife on Kettering's Highfield estate has been spared from a spell behind bars.
Spencer Cassidy, 25, was arrested on June 12 by the Kettering proactive police team in Highfield Crescent.

Hide AdAt about 3.45pm he was caught with a flick knife and cannabis and taken into custody. He later admitted possessing drugs and a bladed article.
Earlier this month magistrates in Northampton magistrates imposed a custodial sentence because it was his second offence in 10 years - but spared him from being sent straight to prison.
Cassidy's six-month prison sentence was suspended for two years.
He must take take part in rehabilitation activities, carry out 180 hours of unpaid work and pay a total of £213.

Hide AdAt a previous hearing last month Cassidy, of no fixed address, also admitted drink-driving after an incident in Lake Avenue, Kettering, on March 6.
He was in a Fiat Punto when he was stopped and gave a reading of 44mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg. He also had no insurance.
Magistrates fined him £200 for the driving offences and banned from driving for a year. He must pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £34.
