Kettering's Elsie celebrates 100th birthday
Elsie Miles, who lives at Elm Bank care home in Northampton Road, says she has "had a happy life surrounded by great people".
Elsie, originally from Bournemouth, worked as a typist but didn't enjoy it as it was too repetitive so joined the forces.

Hide AdShe served as a sergeant in the RAF, a role she said she enjoyed and kept her very busy.
Birthday girl Elsie, who moved to Elm Bank care home in 2016, said: "My son John and his wife Maureen are both very supportive of me and visit me daily.
"I also have grandchildren and great-grandchildren who mean the world to me."
Nicole Hunt, who works at the care home, said: "Elsie is a lovely lady who always puts a smile on my face. She has a cracking sense of humour and is always having a laugh!
"I feel privileged to know Elsie and the rest of the team also feel the same.
"We hope you have a lovely birthday Elsie!"
