Uniforms have been getting increasingly more expensive as schools specify branded items, such as blazers, trousers, and skirts, that can only be bought from an official supplier.
We have worked out what it would cost parents to buy one of each compulsory school uniform item that can only be bought from a nominated supplier.
For some schools, this includes items that are 'optional', like a jumper or skirt, but if a pupil wanted to wear the item it has to be from the supplier.
Schools may soon have to change their uniform requirements because a law proposed by Labour MP for Weaver Vale, Mike Amersbury, is being supported by the Government.
He is calling for schools to only be able to specify items of a uniform, and not their style.

1. Montsaye Academy, minimum spend 100 for boys, 116.50 for girls
Montsaye's uniform features trousers and skirts that can only be bought from the supplier, so if girls want the option of both trousers and skirts, they have an extra branded item to buy. The compulsory girls skort is also more expensive. The main uniform is at least 87 for girls and 74.50 for boys, before the cost of PE kit is added.
2. Brooke Weston, minimum spend 85 for boys, 91.75 for girls
Brooke Weston's main compulsory uniform is just a jumper and tie, coming to a minimum total of 22.75 for one each. For PE, boys and girls need tracksuit trousers, socks, and a polo shirt. Girls also need a sweatshirt and skort while boys need shorts and a multi-sports top.
3. Lodge Park Academy, minimum spend 87.85 for girls, 88.41 for boys
Lodge Park pupils need a school blazer and tie, and if pupils want to wear a jumper it needs to be the school logo one, so we've included this in the total, which is 55.60 minimum for the main uniform. For PE, there is a polo shirt and then a fleece for girls and a rugby shirt for boys. Lodge Park students also need a school backpack but this was not on the ordering form via the school's website.
4. Kettering Science Academy, minimum spend 78.40 for boys, 94.75 for girls
KSA has a compulsory main uniform of a blazer, tie and if girls want to wear a skirt if must be from the supplier and costs between 15.95 to 18.95. One blazer will cost between 27.50-33.50. There is also differences in what boys and girls need for PE, accounting for the different totals.
