Richard Alston Dance Company brings new show to Northampton
The company presents a new programme of contemporary dance, with three pieces by Richard Alston himself and one by the company’s Associate Choreographer Martin Lawrance.
Northampton is the first chance on the company’s autumn tour to see up-and- coming young Kathak star Vidya Patel – a finalist in the BBC’s Young Dancer of the Year - in Alston’s much-acclaimed An Italian in Madrid. The piece is inspired by the sonatas of Scarlatti, a composer hugely influenced by Spanish music and continues Alston’s fascination with the fusion of different cultures and styles.
